Event Report: “Make with Notion Showcase in Berlin”

November 6, 2024, Notion hosted a successful “Make with Notion” showcase event in Berlin, attracting a sold-out crowd of over 150 participants. The event began with an engaging keynote led by Notion’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), who warmly welcomed attendees, shared impressive growth metrics, and extended gratitude to customers in Berlin for their continued support.

During the keynote, the CRO spotlighted Taxfix, a prominent Berlin-based client, underscoring the significant role German customers play in Notion’s journey. Taxfix was prominently featured through a ~3-minute video segment (the customer testimonial Notion recorded last year with Taxfix was played in full length) and several slides showcasing Taxfix logo, underscoring their importance as a valued client in Germany. In addition, an interactive gallery area allowed startups to exhibit their creative applications of Notion, and a large, artist-designed banner incorporated Notion’s signature blocks and showcased notable customer names, including Taxfix.

The showcase event also highlighted recent announcements from Notion’s flagship “Make with Notion” conference held in San Francisco on October 26th. Key updates included the introduction of forms for information gathering, more dynamic layout options, improved automations and an enhanced AI with connectors to essential platforms such as Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, and GitHub, with further integrations promised. One announcement that resonated particularly well with the Berlin audience was the opening of a new data center in Frankfurt, enabling data residency within Germany.

After the keynote, attendees enjoyed a networking lunch, followed by a series of customer showcases, including lightning talks. Dušan was one of only three guest presenters (there were changes to the original announcement), and his session was met with positive feedback, sparking meaningful follow-up discussions. Following the presentation, a Notion solution engineer conducted a demo illustrating how product development teams can leverage Notion’s setup and Notion charts to enhance their workflow with a capacity planning example.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Notion’s General Manager EMEA, followed by a customer recognition ceremony that honoured standout customers. Dušan was privileged to receive the “Business Impact” recognition, presented with a unique, handmade wooden figurine resembling a Lego figure, bearing the “Business Impact” title on the chest and “Make with Notion” on the back.
